Membership

The Denver NACE Membership has exploded to over 115 members as of July 1, 2010. The Membership Committee is working on a new batch of Welcome Bags for our newest members.  This is your opportunity, in case you missed out on the first round...to include an item in the bag. This is one of your special benefits to brand and market your business and services to our new members. We are looking for useful and informative items that place you in front of our members.

Magazines, Logo Memo Pads, Logo Pens, Chapstick, Water Bottle, etc.

Contact: Gracy Morgan at gmorgan@dsc-co.com or Alaneyer Smith at alaneyer@occasionsbysandy.com for more information.

Member Spotlight

Michelle Gillette

Dramatic Events / Owner - Event Planner

Married or Single: Married

Children or Pets: Neither

A little bit about where I grew up: East Texas in a very small town (called Mabank) where we had just one main stop light and the "downtown" area was just one block long.  Only three of us from my graduating class actually left TX for college and I decided to never go back because I love Colorado so much!  Plus the weather in East TX is a nightmare compared to worst days in Colorado.

Favorite vacation spot: Pretty much any European city but I LOVE NYC and Vegas too!

Regarding this industry: I am most excited about getting to know my clients and helping them come up with a vision I'm able to execute using my favorite vendors.  I love the team effort it takes to pull off a fabulous wedding.

If you were a super hero what kind of powers would you have: Reading people's minds (though I'm sure it would be more of a curse than a blessing most of the time).

What makes you happy: Being around people and getting things done.

Why do you like NACE: The people of course!

Can you describe your self in three words or less: Focused, caring & fun

Hamburger or Filet Mignon: Cheeseburger

What do you like most about being a planner: That it's mine and I get to make all of the important decisions regarding the direction it goes.  As scary as it is sometimes, I'm really driven by the notion that I can only hold myself accountable for any missteps along the way and have earned the reputation I have all on my own.

What can we look forward to with Dramatic Events: I hope to continually impress and exceed the expectations of those I get the opportunity to work with.
