President's Report

The Amazing NACE – How Sweet the Sound!

The Denver chapter is crushing the other chapters in the spring membership campaign! As of April 26th, we have 20 new members! Second place is South Florida with 12 members.  Our goal is to have 30 new members by the end of the campaign on May 21st. I would like to personally welcome all new members, and thank both our existing members and membership committee for your recruiting efforts.
Our 3rd annual fundraiser – The Amazing NACE – will be held on June 8th at the Grand Hyatt Denver. This year, we will award a full-time student studying hospitality with a scholarship. We will have a Chinese auction this year, and will have fabulous items to bid. If you are interested in donating, please contact Karen Coleman, director of fundraising, at Karen@thefoodguy.net.

Our guest speaker, Linnyette Richardson-Hall, is a fellow NACE member from the Baltimore chapter. She can be seen regularly on the Style Channel’s Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?, a reality show that focuses on the event professional. You will not want to miss this event!

I look forward to seeing you all at our May 11th meeting at Chair Covers & Linens’ office. It will definitely be a fashionable affair!

~ Sidney M. Stoper, Chapter President

Member Spotlight

SPOTLIGHT ON…

Pamela Behm. Event Manager/Human Resources

Fun Productions, Inc.

Married or Single:

Engaged to a Very Special Air Force Guy :)

Children or Pets:

Neither...I need to learn to take care of a plant first... I currently trying to keep a cactus and a bamboo plant ~ so far so good!

What's in your fridge right now?

Lots of beverages, some condiments and a delish beer braised chicken stew I just made... Mmmm

How would you explain catering to an 8 year old?

Catering is like an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party except with more people and lots more food.  Sometimes you must deal with a Mad Hatter or a Crazy Rabbit but overall its fun and interesting.

Why do you like NACE?

Because it’s not your typical association. It’s fun and educational and you get to meet new exciting people.

Can you describe yourself in three words or less?

Effervescent (Bubbly), Hard Working, Funny

Hamburger or Filet Mignon?

I do love steak, but I'm a big burger gal ~ loaded with cheese, mushrooms, bacon etc. etc. YUM-o!

What would be your first question to the people of Antarctica?

What do you do for fun?

What do you like most about Fun Productions?

Well I starting working for Fun Productions my senior year in College and Johnson & Wales University.  One of the faculty members said that Tim and Dawn were great people and that I could learn a lot about event industry.  I applied and am still here 3 years later.  I enjoy the event industry and enjoy working with new wacky people on a daily basis, and watching events go from start to finish.  It is really an amusing industry and always keeps you on your toes!

What can we look forward to at Fun Productions? New interactive equipment, Oxygen Bars, LED lighted beverage bars and Inflatable Human Hamster Balls.  New teambuilding programs including ones that incorporate elements of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
